The Eco Kettle was designed to enable people to accurately and easily boil only the water that they need - immediately providing a potential to save up to 50% in energy costs to those who routinely and habitually overfill their existing kettle - and that’s most of us!

In independent consumer trials, the standard ECO Kettle used an average of 31% less energy than any other kettle, and is the only kettle to be awarded the “Recommended” mark by the UK’s Energy Saving Trust.

Kettle design took an ecological step forward when they adopted a jug shape - this gave the potential for a smaller minimum boil volume. Water gauges were the direct result of trying to optimise this advantage. However, as we have all experienced, putting an accurate amount of water into a tilted kettle under a gushing water tap is not the easiest of jobs - hence it's tempting to put in more than you need to be on the safe side.

In addition, if you do take the time and trouble to get it right, you just create more trips to the water tap - not a great incentive. And… it is so easy to just forget to measure the water level when you’re busy and preoccupied.
