Assembly of 4 PE tubes as specification MHT 380, each with low friction performance. The assembly is surrounded with a 150 micron aluminium layer, bonded inside a sheath of black MDPE suitable for installation directly into a waiting duct or subduct, not suitable for direct burial.

The PE sheath shall be coloured and light-stabilised, to customer requirements.
The sheath PE shall satisfy the ESCR (Environmental Stress Crack Resistance) of ASTM D 1693.
There shall be a continuous aluminium foil under the sheath, bonded to the sheath with a peel strength of not less than 11N on a sample width of 14mm when pulled apart at 100mm/minute.
The foil shall have an overlap of 4mm minimum, or be welded continously.
The sheath thickness measurement does not apply at the foil overlap position.

Tensile: Use pullsocks to tension a sample to 900N (90kg). After 15 minutes the elongation between 1m 'marks' shall not exceed 7%. Remove the load, wait 1 hour. There shall be no permanent damage, or localised diameter reductions greater than 7%. After unloading, a 3.0mm ball or probe shall pass freely through the tubes.
Flexibilty: Use test method IEC 60794-1-2-E11, mandrel diameter 180mm for 30 minutes. There shall be no damage. A 3.0mm ball or probe shall pass freely through the tubes 'on mandrel'.
Crush: Use test method IEC 60794-1-2-E3, plate loaded with 1000N (100kg) for 60 seconds then removed. Wait 1 hour. There shall be no splitting or permanent damage. Ant permanent residual deformation shall not exceed 15%.
